2017 Highlights

The 2017 event offered enlightening presentations and engaging discussions. We learned how Helsinki is deploying Phenomenon-based learning to increase focus on “real-life” scenarios. We saw how the “Liemers List” is reinventing a school district in the Netherlands. We heard directly from learners about the value of a “students as creators” approach. Our workshops yielded practical ideas for implementing technology-accelerated learning. If you were there, this is a great recap. If you did not attend, it’s a glance at what happens when brilliant minds unite around a common passion. Read on!

Connecting People, Data, and Technology:

Using an Education Hub to Drive Change

Education is a very human endeavor. Despite the promises of machine learning and AI, the role of the teacher is more important than ever. With everything changing so quickly, leaders occasionally need to pause, so that they may revisit — and possibly reinvent — how they may best support their educators.

One way is with a digital hub. The nirvana of edtech, a hub is a single environment which manages instructional content, plans, and activities while integrating with essential cloud apps and student information systems. But, under its surface, a hub offers so much more. The data it produces offer infinite possibilities: automated recommendations for personalized instruction, rich 360° insights about each student, and even predictive analytics of student behavior.

During the 2018 Leadership Network, you’ll see how a hub is both a vision for tomorrow and a reality for today. Through discussions, case studies, and collaborative workshops, we’ll dig deep into how a hub can solve common pains faced by educators, become a vital data source for managing organization change, and enable those essential human connections to flourish.
