The agreement is to better serve customers in the US market

Bergen, Oct 1, 2020 – In line with Sanoma Learning’s communication when acquiring itslearning AS, and their strategic focus on the European market, itslearning AS has entered into a partnership with Altitude Learning (note: renamed Learner-Centered Collaborative on July 20th, 2021) to manage their US business.

itslearning AS will sell its shares in itslearning Inc (US) and transfer all US-staff to Altitude Learning. The new organizational structure unites the two US-businesses and establishes a trusted partnership for continuous distribution of the itslearning platform in the US.

I am excited to be partnering with Altitude Learning; the synergy between our two businesses will enable us to provide a range of enhanced services to our valued clients in North America. As the leading LMS in Europe, itslearning has seen tremendous growth this year across our European operations and this deal will further ensure that we are able to focus and invest in these core markets.’

Steve Tucker, CEO itslearning

This new partnership will not change the contractual obligations for itslearning Inc.’s current clients. itslearning AS will continue to host and maintain services for existing US customers.

The partnership between itslearning and Altitude Learning enables us to even better support diverse partners’ needs. Bringing these organizations together empowers our efforts to create more learner-centered experiences, and we are excited about the potential of this growing community to be the leading edge of learner-centered education in the United States.’

Ben Kornell, CEO Altitude Learning

Opportunities and growth for itslearning going forward

With Sanoma’s strong financial backing and long-term focus, itslearning has strengthened its position as the leading European LMS provider and continues to grow its business across Europe. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, schools and districts across the world have been seeking partners to quickly deploy innovative and practical solutions for digital learning.

The city of Dusseldorf deployed the itslearning platform in less than 24 hours and set a new record in digitizing schools and effectively activating a learning management system. itslearning has also recently won large tenders with the Geman states of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for 350,000 users with additional growth potential.

With the University of Southern Denmark onboarding 45,000 students, itslearning has also now become the leading LMS provider in higher education in Denmark.
