Leading LMS chosen for ability to be used by all K-12 students, a comprehensive resource library and support of alternative learning environment designation during weather-related school closures.

Boston, Jan. 2, 2018itslearning, the developers of the highly acclaimed teaching and learning platform of the same name, today announced that Little Rock School District (LRSD) has chosen itslearning as its new learning management system (LMS). The district’s selection was based on its desire for a partner that could easily integrate with current district-wide systems and support the ongoing needs of administrators, teachers, student and parents, alike. The partnership will make itslearning available to more than 24,000 students across the 48 schools within the district.

According to LRSD K-12 Digital Curriculum Specialist Karl Romain, itslearning proved the unmatched choice to aid the district’s effort to easily streamline digital content integration and create new efficiencies in data collection. The LMS will also support the district’s waiver for offering alternative learning environments – virtual, online learning – when inclement weather strikes and schools are required to close. In Arkansas, schools must have class for 178 days each school year, but the state can waive that number on a case-by-case basis. In this instance, LRSD received a waiver for five days due to the itslearning LMS features that support learning away from schools.

“While researching various LMS platforms, we knew that we needed to find a technologically sophisticated provider that could meet the demands of all LRSD stakeholders for a collaborative learning interface,” said Romain, “With itslearing we have that platform that can address our needs today as well as our evolving demands in the years to come.”

Designed specifically for the K-12 market, itslearning helps improve education in and out of the classroom. The intuitive LMS features effectively connect teachers, parents and students to create differentiated learning solutions for every student. Moreover, the acclaimed itslearning platform continues to evolve to meet the 21st century learning initiatives of school districts. Key areas of recent focus include:

  • Unique integrations to content providers like Infinite Campus and Knovation as well as cloud apps like G-suite and Microsoft Office
  • Streamlined workflows for common daily tasks such as creating assignments and assessments, providing feedback to students and grading
  • Rich messaging and fully mobile apps

Arne Bergby, CEO of itslearning, concluded, “We often find that administrators select our personalized learning system for its ease of use, comprehensive resource library, and advanced communication and collaboration offerings that aid in an enhanced learning experience. In this instance, we welcome the Little Rock School District to our rapidly-growing list of schools around the globe who are focused on improving communication with parents, integrating content, tools and data to engage learners and improving their academic outcomes.
