Wisconsin School District Selects itslearning to Support Digital Learning & Drive District Efficiencies

Districts consolidate disparate tools and integrate standards-aligned curriculum and content while enabling teachers to share best practices

Boston, MA – Oct. 13, 2016— Seeking a transformative yet efficient way to realize its curriculum and instructional goals, Sun Prairie Area School District (SPASD) in Wisconsin is implementing the itslearning learning management system (LMS).  The district joins South Western School District in Hanover, Pennsylvania and Hamilton County Educational Service Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, respectively in the single end-to-end enterprise teaching and learning platform. To date, more than seven million teachers, students, and parents worldwide use itslearning to provide a streamlined, user-friendly learning environment that simplifies student-centered learning.

The fastest growing district in Wisconsin, SPASD was using a host of systems like Google Classroom and Edmodo to organize their digital learning leaving teachers and students alike, confused on where to go for their educational resources. “We needed the confusion to give way to clarity,” said Anne Larson, digital learning manager for SPASD.  “But for that to happen, we needed to first create a pedagogy and curriculum vision. ”

Michael Mades, director of technology, organized a host of district stakeholders including administrators, teachers, curriculum specialists, and students, to participate in the decision-making process. Larson, along with Nate Grundahl, technology integrator for the district, worked closely with Mades to coordinate, meet, and work with the team to choose the LMS that was right for our district — keeping two things in mind: the new LMS would be the foundation for its new 1:1 Chromebook program in grades 6-9 and unequivocally support its aptly named strategic plan — Future Ready Schools for Sun Prairie Students.

Designed specifically for the K-12 sector, itslearning is a leading, cloud-based learning management system that helps educators create innovative and personalized learning environments for students. Known as a best-in-class solution for curriculum management, content integration, and student rostering; itslearning also offers an easy-to-navigate, customizable standards-aligned planner. All stakeholders – administrators, teachers, students and parents  – can access, as appropriate, course materials, assignments, communities for collaboration, professional development tools, and student progress reports.

“Every district has to find the right fit for their school or district, and itslearning is the right fit for Sun Prairie,” said Grundahl. “The itslearning system meets all of our requirements…and in one place. From both an instructional and technology standpoint it will work extremely well with all the other programs and software we use. We expect that during our rollout our teachers will be impressed with its ease of use. They will be able to find and deliver content quickly and easily, and it will greatly facilitate the workflow of assigning tasks, reviewing student work, and providing instant feedback for improved learning.”
