itslearning has been chosen by University College UCC as the institution’s new Learning Management Solution (LMS), with implementation currently underway.
Bergen, Norway — June 1, 2017 — itslearning, a leading global LMS provider, announced today that it has signed with University College UCC in Denmark. The decision to migrate from StudieZone to itslearning was made after an extensive analysis, which included university students and staff.
Located in Copenhagen, UCC has 10,000 full-time students and 6,000 part-time students. UCC is one of Denmark’s main providers of teacher education, social education and postgraduate and supplementary diploma degrees within related fields.
“We are very much looking forward to moving to a modern and proven LMS that meets our needs on a much greater scale,” says Katja Munch Thorsen, Deputy Director at UCC. “There is no doubt that itslearning will make many things easier and above all, support our students’ learning as best as possible.”
This news follows the decision last week by University College Lillebælt (UCL) to sign with itslearning. The itslearning LMS was awarded by both UCL and UCC based on top scores in three criteria: functionality, usability and price.
Other University Colleges Can Join
Throughout the original bidding process, UCL worked closely with four other University Colleges, including UCC.
Results of the evaluation of the tender are supported by all participating University Colleges. The offer gave four University Colleges the option to enter the same contract with itslearning as UCL — and thereby lift the tender obligation. This cooperative process was arranged in the hopes that by partnering with one LMS, the overall collaboration amongst the University Colleges would benefit.
“We have high expectations that collaboration and sharing best practices will continuously improve between the University Colleges with our collective use of itslearning,” says Katja Munch Thorsen.
Thomas Gunleiksrud, VP of itslearning, concluded in saying, “We are excited to partner with the University Colleges and look forward to supporting student engagement, improving learning outcomes and facilitating best practice sharing for these esteemed, higher education institutions in Denmark.”
Implementation of itslearning for both UCL and UCC is currently underway.
