Beatriz Arnillas, Senior Academic Advisor, itslearning and former Director of IT – Education Technology for the Houston Independent School District.

Beatriz Arnillas is a Senior Academic Advisor at itslearning and acts as a consultant for both our internal teams and customers interested in implementing learning-centered education. Previously, Beatriz was the Director of Education Technology for Houston Independent School District where she led the implementation of PowerUp, a district-wide blended learning initiative that continues to transform Houston’s teaching and learning practices, improving student engagement and end-of-course passing scores.

Mike Jamerson, former Tech Director for Bartholomew Consolidated School District (IN) and founding member of CoSN’s Indiana Chapter and former CoSN Chair

Mike Jamerson served as the Director of Technology for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) from August 1998 through July 2018. In 2015, he led the BCSC team responsible for the selection and implementation of itslearning as BCSC’s Learning Management Platform and the implementation of a successful 1:1 program for students in grade 1-12. Mike has served as the technical consultant and liaison in the construction or renovation of over 700 instructional spaces at BCSC during the past eight years, led the technology team responsible for the design and deployment of the educational technology components for BCSC’s Columbus Signature Academy, a nationally recognized New Tech Foundation school and its companion K-8 program.

Michele Eaton, Director of Virtual and Blended Learning at MSD of Wayne Township (IN)

Michele is the Director of Virtual and Blended Learning for the M.S.D. of Wayne Township in Indianapolis, Indiana. She focuses on staff and course development for Achieve Virtual Education Academy and provides leadership for the district’s blended initiatives. Michele is a CoSN CETL and 2016 Next Generation Leader, 2018 EdWeek Leader to Learn From, Past President of the ISTE Online Learning Network, IUPUI online instructor, Conference Chair for the Indiana Connected Educators organization, member of the EdTech Heroes, and moderator for the #INeLearn chat.

Melissa Tebbenkamp, Director of Instructional Technology | Raytown Quality Schools (MO)

Melissa Tebbenkamp is in her twelfth year as the Director of Instructional Technology for Raytown Quality Schools in Missouri. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Technology, with a concentration in networking and systems management. Melissa was one of the first 50 in the nation to earn the status of a Certified Education Technology Leader and is a current member of the CoSN National Board. She has developed partnerships with many industry leaders and serves as a member of several national advisory boards. Under her leadership, Raytown Quality Schools was among the first nationwide to move to large-scale server virtualization and was published internationally for the progressive approach to data center resource management. In August 2016, Tebbenkamp led the Raytown School District to becoming one of seven districts in the nation to earn the Trusted Learning Environment Seal for student data privacy. She currently serves as co-chair of CoSN’s Student Data Privacy working group. Recently, she has consulted with the FTC and Department of Education on the impact of FERPA and COPPA on schools and online instructional tools.

Amelia Vance, Director of Education Privacy & Policy Counsel at the Future of Privacy Forum

Amelia Vance is Director of the Education Privacy Project and a Policy Counsel at the Future of Privacy Forum. She leads FPF’s work to ensure the responsible use of student data and education technology in schools, helping educators with resources and information, and seeking inputs from all stakeholders to ensure students succeed. Among other responsibilities, Amelia runs the Education Privacy Resource Center website, FERPA|Sherpa, oversees the addition of signatories to the Student Privacy Pledge, tracks state and federal legislation, and creates publications on both K-12 and Postsecondary student privacy trends and major topics.
