A Class Course is a new course focus in itslearning that simplifies the student view while keeping the tools teachers need for planning, assessment and communication. Teachers can group several subjects, projects or themes into a single itslearning course, which makes navigation easier for classes that study multiple subjects together.
It sits on top of the standard itslearning course, allowing teachers to use the full feature set while giving students a simplified view with fewer menus and buttons, organised around images and clear subject labels.
Class Course is made primarily for primary schools, but it is not limited to them. It can also suit short courses, second language classes and any setting where simplified navigation helps the learner focus on the content.
The student opens the course and sees a page of image-labelled links. Each link represents a subject, a project or a theme e.g. Art, Maths or a project week. The labels are set by the teacher and do not have to match internal system terms.
The course menu can be disabled so students see only the main class page, and when they open a subject, they see either the resources or the plan for that subject, depending on how the teacher has set it up.
Teachers keep the standard itslearning toolkit. They can:
Each topic can be set up in two ways:
Show resources suits younger students or simple subjects. The topic page lists the files, links and pages inside the folder.
Show plans suits older students or subjects that need more context. The topic page shows the plans the teacher has built, with resources grouped inside each plan.
A single Class Course can mix both. Science might use plans while World Water Day uses resources.
Announcements in Class can be pinned and read aloud. Scheduled posting and attachments are planned before launch.
The Class Course provides a simplified, visual interface designed for tablet use. Teachers can organise content and control what students see, while students navigate independently without needing adult guidance.
