IFAPME has chosen itslearning as its exclusive LMS partner for the next three years. In particular, the LMS provider will be responsible for supporting the development of the training offering. A behind-the-scenes look at an ambitious educational project.
It's a happy ending for all those involved in the project, who have been working since the beginning of 2021 to bring this XXL tender to fruition.
The Institut wallon de Formation en Alternance et des indépendants et Petites et Moyennes Entreprises (IFAPME) has given its verdict: itslearning will be its exclusive LMS partner for the next three years.
Its main mission is to support IFAPME, whose main objective is to offer training for professions in a multitude of professional sectors. These courses are organized on a sandwich basis, with classes at the center and practical training on the job. This project, which reflects the Walloon Institute's major ambitions in the field of digital pedagogy training, is also a further opportunity for itslearning to demonstrate the expertise it has acquired through hundreds of projects over more than a decade.
Optimize your tools and turn digital technology into an ever-growing asset
After a tender validation process lasting over 6 months, itslearning was finally awarded the contract to equip IFAPME and its network of training centers in 16 Walloon cities, offering over 400 training courses.
The Organisme d'Intérêt Public (OIP) chose the itslearning LMS platform partly because of its multi-faceted benefits, in line with IFAPME's project to improve the quality of work-study training by integrating more digital technology. The deployment of digital technology is based on the software's ability to enrich and vary current pedagogical practices, while enhancing the digital skills of learners and trainers. Indeed, the arrival of the LMS is in line with the Institute's resolutely digital-oriented strategy.
In other words, we are targeting four major areas of development:
- Digital deployment in IFAPME's core business
- Keeping pace with learners' practices
- Attractiveness development
- Developing the complementary relationship between work-study and digital technology
An easy-to-use, fun platform
One of the members of the project steering committee points out that the itsLearning LMS was selected on the basis of both pedagogical and technical considerations.
What's more, the teaching teams agree that the platform offers undeniable practicality and fun:
"itsLearning fulfills the classic functions of an LMS: storage of content and activities, creation of training courses, management of learners enrolled in courses, administrative and pedagogical follow-up thanks to the richness of its reports."
And he adds that, from a pedagogical point of view, advanced functionalities offer a wealth of possibilities:
"itsLearning enables true individualization of courses, skills management, collaborative working and offers extensive reporting and access to data."
Beyond the purely educational aspect, other fundamental criteria were also taken into account:
- Security: itsLearning is an ISO 27001-certified LMS
- Data management: itslerning is 100% RGPD compliant
- Performance: hosting that adapts to usage(scalability) and guarantees optimum platform availability
- Scalability: itslearning supports the integration of third-party tools via the LTI standard
These are all key factors reinforcing itslearning's credibility and relevance to IFAPME's educational project.
20,000 users to benefit from itslearning LMS
Since the start of the 2021 school year, 500 members of staff have been designated as key users. They benefit from an intuitive learning platform offering numerous tools for communication (Microsoft Teams, instant messaging, etc.), productivity (Office 365 online, etc.) and learning tracking (360° Reports, Learning Paths, etc.).
And since October 2021, the platform has been open to the 20,000 members of the IFAPME Network. They have access to a tool for innovation and pedagogical support that complements face-to-face training.
