The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) has chosen itslearning as its new learning platform after a thorough tender process involving several large and well-established LMS providers. Itslearning is already a supplier to the university colleges and is the leading learning platform for higher education in Denmark.
The 6-year contract with the University of Southern Denmark covers 45,000 users. SDU, which previously used the learning platform Blackboard, is convinced that they have chosen the best solution. Ease of use and the ability to facilitate distance learning have been important parameters, which have been further highlighted by the Covid-19 crisis.
Selection process
SDU's selection process began early last year. It included an in-depth evaluation by a committee of faculty members and students. The platforms were evaluated based on a number of objective criteria, and itslearning was the clear winner in terms of usability and functionality - criteria that were both highly valued. In addition, itslearning was considered the most student-oriented solution and a good match for the project- and problem-based approach to learning that SDU practices.
