Say goodbye to the old planner!

Hey everyone, have you heard the news? itslearning has launched a new planner that will greatly improve your lesson planning, which is set to take over from the old one starting August 2023. This means that the new planner will be the default planner in the platform, and all courses (old and new) will be included in it.

But don't worry, you won't be forced to make the switch right away - you can still toggle between the old and new planner until January 2024 (unless your site administrator has turned this off). This gives you plenty of time to explore the new planner's great features and get comfortable with it.

I spoke to Hanne Lorentzen, the product owner of the new planner, and she told me all about how it's designed together with many of our customers to be super user-friendly and visually engaging. Not only that, but students will now be able to monitor their individual achievements more easily, thanks to simplified navigation and progress bars. So, get ready to say goodbye to the old planner and hello to the new and improved one - your planning and organisation just got a whole lot easier!

"The new planner is designed with the student in mind- a visually engaging, easy to use tool where they can get an overview of their work and track their progress. And it's great for teachers too!"Hanne Lorentzen, Product Owner, itslearning

All you need to know

We know that change can be confusing, and we want to make sure you're well-informed about the upcoming switch. That's why we've put together a handy list of the most frequently asked questions - take a look below and get ready to be fully prepared for the new planner!

FAQ

As mentioned the new planner will be default from August 2023, with the option to use the old planner for the remainder of the calendar year. Your site admin has a few options in this time-period:
  • A) Do nothing - this keeps the new planner as default but allows users to switch between old and new in plan settings
  • B) Turn off the new planner, until the old planner is discontinued. To do so your administrator has to contact itslearning. This is a possibility but not recommended as this transition period is meant to help you get to know the new planner before the old one is removed.

We will keep you informed when new features are available, but until then take a look at the planner campaign page to read more about the new planner and its functionalities.
