Users can instantly send a message by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Enter or Cmd+Enter without hitting the send button. The latter option is available for Mac users only.

New profile information page: adding reports

We are planning to add all the information that was previously available in the profile card, to the full profile page. This release adds links to Attendance, Behaviour, the aggregated Assessment record and the aggregated Learning Objective progress report. Note that not all these features are in use in all organisations, and the availability depends on this.

Option for setting home page link is removed

In the new main menu of itslearning you will now find both Courses (leading to the course cards page, but only if you have access to courses) and Updates (leading to the updates page). Thus the option for the user to decide which of these is ‘Home’ is no longer needed, and is now removed.

Separate quarantine periods for site and course trash cans

The quarantine period is a safety measure designed to prevent the accidental permanent deletion of data in itslearning. Items placed in the site or course trash cans can only be permanently deleted once the quarantine period has elapsed.

Administrators now have the ability to set distinct quarantine durations for:

  • Site Trash Can: Contains deleted users, courses, and projects (Admin > Trash Can)
  • Course Trash Can: Contains deleted course elements (Course > Settings > Trash Can)

These settings can be configured in Admin > Global Settings > Features and Security. The default quarantine period is  30 days.

With the release, we will automatically update the quarantine times on your site, following these rules:

  • Site trash can: If the current quarantine time is set to less than 30 days, we will change it to 30 days.
  • Course trash can: The current quarantine time is used.

We recommend checking that the current values meet your needs.

Data Warehouse/OData: Track the use of template courses

Customers using Data Warehouse can now track the use of template courses through OData.

  • New field “IsTemplate” added to Course entity to flag courses that are shared as templates.
  • New entity CourseTemplate can be used to get insight on which courses are based on a template, how much and which templates are being used.

Upcoming UX change: Global Content Search Gradually Moving to Main Menu

undefined-Sep-03-2024-06-56-36-0576-AM

We are excited to announce that over the next two weeks, the global content search bar will gradually move from the personal menu to the main menu for all customers and we'll start a gradual roll out.

The new global content search offers a faster and more intuitive way for users to find relevant resources and activities within itslearning. Users can search for plans, topics, courses, resources, and activities, including content from archived courses, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all relevant materials.

More information can be found in our support article.

Note: Global content search is only available to users for whom administrators have enabled it in profile settings (setting name ‘Search content’).
