We have improved working with OneDrive for all users.
The OneDrive file picker is now:
- More accessible
- Works better on larger and smaller devices including mobile phones
In this release, we’ve made text easier to read, improved the workflow for using OneDrive and G Suite and added more security features such as password protect for tests.
We have made it easier to automatically connect G Suite accounts for teachers and students in schools or districts using G Suite for Education.
How will this impact you:
If your school/organization uses multiple separate G Suite domains (e.g a teacher domain and a separate student domain), all domains must be connected in itslearning. If schools/organizations have secondary domains set up, only the main/primary G Suite domain needs to be connected in itslearning.
Schools/organizations should contact their itslearning Support team to find out more.
We also want to make it super easy for itslearning users to work with Google even where automatic connections are not used. One way to access itslearning is to go to the Google app drawer in your browser when you are logged in to your Google account and click the itslearning icon. If your account is not already connected we will prompt you to do so.
Students can now start a conversation with their group members directly from a group assignment. Simply click “Open group conversation” and start discussing!
Bulletins are a great way for course participants to comment on news posted by a teacher/lecturer. But, sometimes you don’t want this communication mode, such as during online tests. Administrators can now prevent users from writing comments through a new profile setting (also available in policies).
It is now possible to prevent a single user, multiple users, hierarchy or a whole profile from adding new comments to bulletins in any course. Users will still be able to read any pre-existing comments.
Some schools want the added security of using passwords to access tests. We’ve now made this possible.
Adding a password means the test can be embargoed until the password is shared. This will help districts and schools/organizations better manage centralized tests because tests can be added to a course by teachers or pushed out centrally using course templates.
Note: This feature is only for Test 2.0 customers, we will be adding it to the other versions of test in the near future.
The “User dashboard” setting is now disabled by default, when administrators manually create a new hierarchy. The change was prompted by feedback from many customers who did not require this function. It can, of course, still be enabled if a dashboard is desired for a particular hierarchy. This change does not affect functionality when hierarchies are created through integration.
Document collaboration in the Task tool has been removed to simplify task creation. If you want students to collaborate on a Google or Office document, you can use the group assignment feature of the Assignment tool.
We have extended the data warehouse and OData with a new end-point for SCORM outcomes in itslearning. This allows SCORM outcomes (score from a quiz, time spent etc) to be extracted from the data warehouse. Contact your itslearning Support team to find out more.
We have made it easier to view the details of an event from the course overview page. Previously, when clicking on the time of an event, you were taken to the calendar. If there were files attached or resources linked to the event, you would have to click on the event to see them. Now, all event details will be shown directly in a pop-up window.
